Urban Tails Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare advocacy and finding forever homes for animals in need. We are 100% volunteer run and foster based, meaning we have no physical shelter location and all animals are living it up in the care of loving foster homes.
We rescue both dogs and cats of all ages, breeds and sizes. We don’t discriminate, a life in need of saving is a life in need of saving.
Our vision is to continuously promote animal welfare advocacy, to educate the public about animal overpopulation and the importance of spay & neuter, to save every life we can within our means and to assist the public in rehoming their pets in an effort to reduce shelter populations and overcrowding.
“Each and every animal of earth has as much right to be here as you and me .”

Ways You Can Help
Adopting an animal and saving a life is one of the most rewarding feelings in the world. If you see an animal that you’re interested in adopting, we encourage you to apply. There is a bit of a process, but we’ll walk you through it.
Check out our adoption page for more details.
Fostering is a great opportunity for you to be involved in the rescue process, without the full commitment of owning a dog or cat. Don’t get us wrong, fostering is still a commitment! Fosters may need refreshers in house training, basic training, socialization, medical rest, confidence building and other special attention to get them ready for adoption, however, you will be rewarded with lots of cuddles, unconditional love and kisses from your new pal.
Check out our foster page for more details.
Urban Tails Animal Rescue is 100% volunteer run and without your help, we are unable to do what we do. Want to get involved but you’re not sure how? We’re always looking for volunteers who can assist with a variety of things.
Check out our application to see how you can help!
Urban Tails Animal Rescue is 100% non-profit, meaning all monetary donations made to the rescue are used for our rescue efforts and for the care of the animals currently in foster homes with us. No donation is too small.
Small fundraising initiatives on our behalf are always welcomed. If you’re a business owner, there are many small ways you can collect donations on behalf of Urban Tails Animal Rescue.
Check out our donate page for ways you or your business can help.

Marta's chances of adoption are slim to none in the city she currently resides, therefore, a cry for help was posted pleading for her rescue. Despite Marta's horrible start to life, she is still begging anyone she meets for attention and love and is described as a sweet, loving and affectionate young dog. Urban Tails Animal Rescue immediately and without hesitation has stepped in to help bring Marta to Canada.
